Band of Llamas offers a contemporary twist on the classic live music experience. This emerging Pennsylvania-based group, blending jam, roots rock, funk, and blues, captivates audiences with their distinctive sound and exceptional musicianship. Whether performing original compositions or covers, in English or Spanish, they craft a lively and unique auditory experience. Their diverse fan base reflects the eclectic nature of their music and influences.

Drawing inspiration from iconic acts like The Allman Brothers, Santana, Yes, The Grateful Dead, Los Lobos, and Phish, their performances deliver an exhilarating, mind-bending experience. Yet, Band of Llamas can also showcase a melodic and sophisticated pop-rock side reminiscent of Paul Simon, Prince, and Steely Dan.

Originating from a lively jam, folk and roots rock scene fueled by bands like Widespread Panic, Billy Strings, Dogs In A Pile, Spafford, Daniel Donato and more, Band of Llamas effortlessly fits into this environment while setting themselves apart with their distinctive fusion of world music into their jam adjacent mix. They are also willing to delve into a more intense rock sound infused with funk, reminiscent of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or embrace an eclectic style similar to the funky side of Beck.

All comparisons aside…  This ensemble offers an intriguing blend of reinterpreted Juano Lippi originals and creatively arranged popular covers by its members. Regardless of how one defines Band of Llamas, they consistently foster an engaging atmosphere, embrace musical experimentation in their live performances, and clearly have a great time.
